Product Specific Questions

Q: Do you still supply the Scorpio Tricycle?

A: Quest 88 no longer supply the Scorpio tricycle, however, we have a similar tricycle which has a folding frame. The Draisin Shopi is available with folding frame with the options of 7 speed freewheel, fixed wheel (for pedalling backwards) and switchable gearing (free or fixed wheel). It can also be supplied with an optional motor for power assistance.

Q: Can I trade in my old trike?

A: Quest 88 took the decision to register it's tricycles with the MHRA (Medicines & Healthcare Regulatory Authority) some years ago in the firm belief that as well as the recreational benefits of tricycles, they also have therapeutic value and should be deemed a medical device.

In doing so, we were making a statement of our intent to apply special considerations to this product to protect customers in the following ways:  1. Tricycles are commonly prescribed for a particular user and may not be suitable for other users. The accessories may be inappropriate which may affect the safety and stability of a user for whom it was not originally prescribed. (Quest 88 offers free assessments for it's customers to ensure that the child is correctly positioned and safe) 2. As with any responsible company, it is important that Quest 88 can identify the location of it's supplied equipment should a product recall or safety notice be required. (This is of course uncommon, however it demonstrates our committment to your child's safety)

We are aware that Quest 88 Tricycles are sold through ebay and disability forums/billboards, however we strongly advise that you seek our advice before proceeding so as to ensure that the trike and it's accessories are entirely suitable. Always ensure that you have access to user instructions. If absent you can download them from this site or contact us.

Quest 88 is sympathetic to the financial implications of upgrading equipment and whilst we cannot offer "trade-ins" for equipment we will do everything we can to assist you with your purchase. We can also advise you on possible funding sources. Quest 88 trikes from May 2005 onwards are supplied with a 2 year warranty (excl. brake pads, tyres & tubes) and a 5 year frame and forks gaurantee.

Q: Can you service our existing Kaye walkers?

A: Quest 88 provides an Equipment Clinic service, providing an opportunity for each walker to be assessed for damage and wear. We will provide a comprehensive report and of required, provide labels for equipment not suitable for intended use.

We can supply a walker checklist poster for your department to assist you in maintenanace program.

Q: My son/daughter is finding it hard to pedal their Quest 88 tricycle!

A: This may be due to your tricycle being setup incorrectly or if your child has grown to the point whereby the tricycle is too small or needs adjusting. In either case please contact us and one of our product advisors would be only too glad to assist you.

Q: How can I find out which product is the most suitable?

A: You can enquire about sizes and critical measurements via phone or on this website; however the best way would be to ask us for a demonstration. This can be arranged at a mutually convenient date and venue and gives you the opportunity to see and try the equipment first hand.
