Introducing our tricycles and bicycles

This website focuses on two ranges of tricycles. They are the Quest 88 range, which is particularly focussed on children with Cerebral Palsy, and the Draisin range which covers a broad range of abilities including Autism, children with restricted growth and Spina Bifida.

By clicking on the  brochure download brochure icon link on each model page you can view and download our current tricycle brochure.

Quest 88 Tricycles

Quest 88 currently manufactures 3 sizes of tricycle, the Kitten, the Carousel & Colt and the Panther. Should a child be at the higher limits of a tricycle’s range, we can often accommodate a child on the next size up by using crank shorteners or adapted cranks to ensure that your purchase is a cost effective one and that the tricycle will last as long as possible.

Each tricycle is welded rather than the traditional method of brazing to give extra durability. The Colt, Carousel and Panther tricycles have two-part frames and can be broken down into manageable segments for ease of transportation and storage.

The chain guard is completely sealed to protect clothes and skin from oil and dirt, as well as preventing fingers and clothing getting trapped in the chain or gears. The tricycles are relatively low maintenance as they only need to be kept clean and dry to ensure safe use for a long time.

The frame and forks are guaranteed for 5 years and each tricycle has a 2 year warranty. There are several factors which should be considered crucial when determining the suitability of a tricycle for a child.

Draisin Tricycles

Quest 88 is the UK distributor for Draisin cycling products which include the Neon, Laser and Eclipse children's models. These differ from our own tricycles in that they are equipped with brakes, wheels and gears suitable for children who have greater hand/arm control and cognitive abilities.

Draisin tricycles are designed and built in the Black Forest in South West Germany. Draisin have a similar background to Quest 88 although their tricycles have many options and accessories for the child who can manage a little bit more, either in terms of balance, in the case of the Laser bicycle with it's unique stabiliser system, or in terms of brakes and gears, with a whole array of options including fixed wheel, free wheel or both options on the same bike!

Draisin tricycles are also available with power assistance. Each of the models featured on this site can be fitted with a motorised hub and battery unit which can assist pedalling when it is needed. This still requires the child to pedal and have exercise, but makes it easier when they are tired or where muscle tone is very low.
Draisin tricycles offer the same levels of support as Quest 88  tricycles, and Quest 88 footplates and accessories can also be interchanged between models.

All Draisin tricycles and bikes have a two year warranty against any defect.
