This is a semi recumbent tricycle and differs from a conventional recumbent in that it is more visible to other vehicles and pedestrians. Mounting and dismounting is also much easier because of its higher riding position. Steering is controlled by two vertical bars positioned either side of the rider. Whilst this looks unusual, the end result is a very intuitive feel to handling the vehicle.
There are two lengths of vehicle available as well as seat adjustment to get the riding position just right. If the rider cannot maintain ninety degrees or greater at the knee joint, the Relax or Relaxino is ideal as you can pedal with your legs in an extended position. An optional power unit can assist the rider’s own efforts, which is especially useful for those with weakened leg muscles for example riders with Multiple Sclerosis. Other options include a body steer version and adapted controls for limbless riders.
